To Our Families of Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics,
As you know, all dental offices in Ontario are closed. We have not been provided any information about when we can re-open.
I have been very busy during this closure time. (In addition to telling my wife how to vacuum) I have been attending webinars, and reading a lot of material from such groups as The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, The Canadian and and American Associations of Dentists, and The American and Canadian Associations of Orthodontists, and the American and Canadian Associations of Pediatric Dentistry. I have had lengthy conversations with my colleagues. All of this effort will ensure that our office continues to provide you with excellent dental care in an environment that is safe for you and my wonderful staff.
There will be a few changes when we re-open in order to keep everyone safe, and to be compliant with all provincial regulations. Some of the changes are:
1. You will not be able to enter our office if upon screening, we are worried that you might be affected by Covid-19. We will have a sign at the front door to screen everyone entering.
2 . Only one parent/caregiver will be allowed to accompany the patient, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
3. Your appointment time will be an estimate. I always took great pride in running on schedule, but we appreciate your understanding that scheduling will be a bit difficult for the short duration.
4. You will be asked to maintain a safe distance of 6 feet whenever possible.
5. Members of our team will be wearing some different Personal Protective Equipment for some procedures. We look FABULOUS! in our new outfits!
We hope that you are keeping safe at home! I am so excited about returning to work. (So is my wife!).
As soon as we hear about a re-opening date, the office will contact you if you are an existing patient, or you are free to call. We regret that moving forward we will not be accepting HSO as a form of reimbursement for new patients.
Best, Dr. Weinberger
